Apparently it likes this plant a bit TOO much.
On another shot of this hummer, I didn't notice the bug until I downloaded the image. Amazing the little details we miss in our everyday lives.
Discovered this nest when the two eggs were just laid, and stopped by occasionally until they fledged.

These small shorebirds are fascinating and stunning when they take flight all at once (sometimes by the thousands).
These birds fly in unison, and will suddenly flip over and show their white undersides. Wow, what a show they put on!

This gull tried everything it could to figure out how to eat a sea-star. I caught it just as it dropped it on the dock, looking like this was some sort of a follies dance routine.

These are very skittish birds with a rather plaintive cry. I often hear but don't see them.
This grebe is enjoying a meal. They are fascinating birds and quickly dive when they feel threatened.
This loon caught my eye just as I was getting ready to leave. I sat down on the pier and shot it diving for spot shrimp. Plenty for a meal!
This little guy was just coming in for a landing.
